Anna Nugent

Dear fellow Creators,

First, I just want to say thank you! Thank you for being brave, for following your heart and having the conviction to carry on when the world around you plays by different rules. Sometimes it can feel like you are swimming upstream, but truly you are in the flow. You are in alignment with a higher purpose. That true artistic calling. And it won’t always be easy. You will want to give up. But know that the world needs you. We need your stories, projects, images and roles. We need you to take the path less travelled and we need you to shine your light. Because the truth is that we all are artists and that seeing you doing what you love frees others to do what they love. And what would the world look like if we were all just doing what we love? I think it would look pretty phenomenal!

One thing I ask, fellow creator, is that we stop perpetuating the myth of the starving artist. That is a belief built on fear and it can be debilitating and often self-fulfilling. Instead, let’s perpetuate a new belief that the source of our art is unlimited and can sustain us in ways beyond our comprehension. Let’s support each other in the belief that we are taken care of, that our success doesn’t take away another’s, but instead it has the capacity to inspire and create opportunity.

Let’s be generous and caring for ourselves and for each other. Let’s give each other the benefit of the doubt, because we know what it is to feel exposed and vulnerable – we do it for a living.

So thank you again for your bravery. I celebrate you and all that you are. You can do this. The world needs you!

Much love,

Anna
